IG Broadens Its Sell-Side Services Team with the Addition of
Don van der Zwaag in the Upper Midwest

December 2018 - The Independence Group (IG) announces that Don van der Zwaag has joined the firm as a consultant in sell-side services.  He will represent IG in its activities in the Upper Midwest. 

"Don has been a friend of IG for many years and we are pleased that he is joining the team," said Larry Willis, President of IG. "He has excellent skills in all areas of mergers and acquisitions, and we are confident that he will help us close deals. Don will be meeting personally with our clients in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and surrounding states."

Don brings over 30 years of experience in M&A advisory services, strategic planning and transition guidance for owner-operated businesses. Over his career Don has developed intuitive skills in managing the expectations of business owners during sensitive and emotional transactions. Don has served in various operational leadership roles in the manufacturing and the not-for-profit spaces, as well as provided start-up and turn-around advice to manufacturing businesses. A graduate of Grand Valley State University, Don earned his MBA from the University of Michigan in Operations Research. He has completed professional certifications as a Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor (CM&AA), Certified Value Builder (CVB), and Exit Planner (CEPA). Don lives near Grand Rapids, Michigan and will work in collaboration with IG's corporate office in El Dorado Hills, California.
