Alejandra Cavazos

Vice President of Finance and Administration

Ale is IG’s newly named VP of Finance and Administration. In addition to working closely with clients and business owners to compile financial information for valuations and transactions, Ale analyzes complex financial reports, maintains employee benefit programs, manages due diligence processes and other multi-faceted administrative tasks.  Ale holds a Bachelor Degree from The Jesuit University of Guadalajara, ITESO, Western Institute of Technology and Higher Education.   She has achieved the CPC (Contador Publico Certificado) of Mexico, which is the equivalent of the CPA designation in the U.S.

Janet Scherr

Marketing Manager

Janet holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from Purdue University and has enjoyed a rewarding career in marketing and media. She oversees IG's development of marketing strategies and advertising campaigns, as well as industry research and targeted buyer outreach.  Early on, Janet worked with two radio stations as Promotions Director, first in the San Francisco Bay Area and then in Sacramento.  She then moved on to oversee the Marketing Department for a well-respected developer of master-planned communities. Janet brings valuable creativity and communications expertise to the IG’s efforts in connecting buyers and sellers.

Katy Avery

Buy-side Administrative Manager

Katy Avery holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Behavioral Science from the University of California, Davis.  Katy is an administrative professional with more than 20 years of experience working in a variety of high level corporate environments.  She has worked in various industries including Telecommunications, Marketing, and Financial Planning.  Her administrative roles include Human Resources, Project Management, Client Customer Specialist and Executive Administrative Assistant.  Katy assists The Independence Group with special projects and all aspects of day-to-day operations. 

 


Heather Eich

Administrative Services Coordinator

Heather began her career as an administrator for a Broadcasting & Humanitarian Firm. During those five years it provided her the ability to travel to the UK, Central America, Uganda and China.  She then worked from home when her children were very young doing bookkeeping and administration for music programs in elementary schools. With a high level of experience is in bookkeeping and administration, Heather is an exemplary addition to The Independence Group, assisting in numerous accounting, executive and marketing/research projects.

 
 

Guy Barber

Transaction Coordinator

Guy specializes in closing processes and compliance, ensuring that all documentation is consistent and authorized.  He brings valued experience to IG, having spent more than 40 years in commercial and business real estate.
